Early U.S History

The beginning of the U.S. beguin in 1776 with the American Revolutnary War. The United States with its allies The Kingdom of Spain, The Dutch Repulic and the Kingdom of France fought The British Empire in the American Revolutary War. The war lasted from 1776-1783. The U.S won the war. George Washington was the first U.S president. The war of 1812 staled after late 1813. The Louisiana purchase doubled the size of the U.S.

The U.S Government

The U.S government is split into 3 main branches. The Judicial, Executive, and Legislative Branch. The branches are down below. Its called JEL. There is Democrats and Republicans in the branches.

J- Judicial Branch Evaluates laws.(Supreme Court and other Courts).

E- Executive Branch Carry out laws (President, Vice President, Cabinet and most federal agencies).

L- Legislative Branch Makes laws (Congress comprised of the Senate and the House of Representatives).

First is the Legislative Branch (or Congress) thinks about laws to make. Before its called a law its called a bill. One half of the senaters and representatives will have to vote for the bill. So thats L. Next is the Executive Branch. They carry out laws. The president is the head of the branch and can veto or approve laws. So thats E. If its approved by the president it goes to the Supreme court. It goes to see if it is Constitutional. If it is it turns into a law. So thats J. If the president vetos it goes back to Congress for changes. But the Senate can override the veto with a two-thirds majority. So its LEJ really.
